And you may ask yourself: how did I get here?

I love listening to the problems that people bring and helping them explore solutions. There is a no ‘hard sell’ with career coaching – you either need it or you don’t!

I have had several of my own major career shifts. I started out as a teacher who transitioned into museum education, then made a big mid-life pivot into financial sector headhunting, before setting up my own research business and finally training as a career coach. This broad experience helps me to understand clients from a range of backgrounds.

I enjoyed each of my jobs, but moved on every time by reacting to circumstances, both good and challenging. It was only becoming a career coach that I properly planned! So many people just ‘find’ themselves in a job, having life happen to them. I know first-hand how satisfying it feels to finally seize the steering wheel of your own career.

I have two neurodivergent young adult children and especially enjoy working with people whose brains are wired a bit differently. I am particularly proud of my top strength of Unconditionality: together we will tailor your personal career journey uniquely to you, without judgement or comparison with others.

My top strengths

“Everyone needs a Carolyn in their life!”
ST, Visual Merchandiser

Specialisms

People seeking to leave education or headhunting; neurodivergent adults (dyslexia, autism spectrum, ADHD, dyspraxia), career moves into and out of the commercial sector, helping people set up as freelancers. Experience across sectors including charities, law, media & advertising, government/civil service, project management, marketing & PR, publishing and healthcare.

I am a confidence-building specialist who enjoys setting young people on the right path, supporting professionals to pivot mid-career and helping experienced workers whose careers no longer bring them fulfilment.

Qualifications

I am an accredited Career Coach, accredited Strengths Profile practitioner, and have taken courses on coaching neurodivergent clients. I have a Master’s degree in Education from UCL.

Bio

I’m no stranger to change.

It took me a long time to figure out what I wanted to do “when I grew up” — and in truth, that journey is still evolving. After a successful 20-year career in executive search, I discovered my passion for career coaching, where I’ve found meaningful, purpose-driven work.

My background spans starting and running businesses, earning a Master’s in Psychology as a mature student, and navigating numerous personal and professional transitions. I draw on all of this to offer grounded, practical support to people who are navigating or initiating change.

What drives me is a deep curiosity about people. I have a natural empathy and ability to see the complexity in each individual — rarely is anything black and white. We all carry a unique blend of experiences, responsibilities, and aspirations that shape how we see our choices, define our priorities, and connect with our potential.

As an accredited coach in an industry that is largely (and worryingly!) unregulated, I place a high value on delivering coaching that is insightful, impactful, and truly relevant to today’s professional landscape.

Whether you're a new graduate just starting out or a professional looking to make a major career shift or simply adjust your course, I’m here to guide you with the right support at the right time. Because change doesn’t always require an overhaul — sometimes, the smallest shifts lead to the most meaningful transformations.
